This
is how we see Human Resources Management:
>>Why are we here? Everything flows from the strategic mission
of the organisation.
Many organisations manage to be quite competent in surviving and growing
even though there is no stated mission or vision for its people to be
guided by. “We just go out there and DO it” is the approach.
The organisations that become the benchmarks for others, the ones that
recruit and retain the best employees; that constantly remain competitive
and experience growth, are the ones that provide focus. Everybody knows
why they’re there. Everybody knows what’s expected of him/her.
THEN they go out there and DO it.
Employees need to know and accept the reasons
for the existence of the organisation if they are expected to contribute
towards its growth.
The vision, mission and values of the organisation
serve to create a common understanding and sense of purpose for all
employees in the it.
Employees need to understand and accept the legitimate
interests of other stakeholders in an organisation.
Through establishing and communicating clear strategic
goals to the employees, the Governing Body or Board of Directors provide
employees with a sense of common purpose and a means of measuring their
own contributions towards the organisation’s success.
